Business Friendly Features
The 840 SSD 840 PRO Series introduces three important hardware features for businesses: Worldwide Name (WWN), LED Indicator support, and AES 256-bit Full Disk Encryption (FDE). The first two features make it easier to integrate the 840 PRO SSD into server and storage systems while the AES Encryption helps safeguard data against attack. By encrypting all information on the disk at the hardware level, there is no detrimental effect on performance.
Plus, Samsung’s Magician software has been completely redesigned and includes several business-friendly features including Drive Health Status, Total Bytes Written (TBW), and Disk Scan & Error Reporting functionality. It's very quick, topping a majority of our benchmark charts. Moreover, it achieves its great performance while using less power than its competition. This makes the 840 Pro the fastest, most efficient SSD we've seen to date.
The Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD not only looks good, it’s one of the fastest drives on the market, it’s reliable, and it’s not priced too exorbitantly either. Looks like Samsung has pulled all the stops on the 840 Pro and it’s definitely a very worthy successor to the Samsung 830. Highly recommended!

Is extremely fast. Assuming you are using as a boot drive make sure to force your motherboard to use UEFI mode only when installing the OS or it will install using the legacy BIOS mode and boot times will be much slower.
General use is great - it will speed up your system no matter what hardware you are using.

Bought this to replace a sata2 ocz vertex that died on me twice. Was torn between this or an intel 520, but do not regret choosing the samsung 840 pro.

Very satisfied with this purchase. Upgraded from two 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSDs in RAID0 and the Samsung drive easily outperforms them. Very impressed :)
