Boy is it pleaseant to store date on such a device. But boy is it annoying when they burn out. which happens more often then real HDD. And boy is it frustrationg to revert to a HDD when it's burnt.

After just installing a wonderful Intel SSD in my main desktop PC, I thought it would be worth it to try a cheaper model from a good brand name in my 2 1/2yr old netbook.
faster alternatives are not much more money, but for the average user, any ssd will do. this ssd works great, boots and loads everything fast, has a decent capacity, and its easily and readily available.

I was unable to restore my operating system to this SSD (extreme slowdown and reported errors at completion). The problem appeared to be a software issue until I tried just copying files onto it from my current system SSD. A copy operation which should take 5 minutes runs smoothly for about 2. After that, the drive activity light reduces to intermittent activity and the estimated time remaining exceeds an hour. Within 10 minutes the operating system is unresponsive until the drive is unplugged or Windows marks the drive nonresponsive. On reboot the drive has even disappeared from BIOS and does not reappear until removed from power supply for ~20 seconds.
