Got this to replace a 9800GTX+, the performance difference is almost negligible, aside from the new technologies like SM5.0 and DX11 this card is not really better than the 9800GTX+ which is a midrange card from 3 years ago. If you can, save a little and get a GTX 560 Ti, because this car performs rather poorly for today's games if you game at 1920 x 1080 or more, even after overclocking it as much as possible with the stock cooler.
Needed a budget card to replace my Radeon HD4830. This card is 50% faster for $80. When I did the math on Passmark given the latest pricing - it is the best value of all cards.

I use to have a 8800GTS 640mb card but it burned out. Was looking for a cheap replacement card but with decent performance. My PC is almost 5 years old and still very usable. If you are like me and don't want to invest in a whole new PC and you have a older lower resolution monitor then the EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti Fpb is a good cheap card. A noticeable improvement over my old card. Recommended, if you had my old card or older.

FPS rates are as advertised, runs fairly cool with it's moderately sized fan and heat sink. Only problem I had was that I was getting about 20 FPS when I first put the PC together but after some fiddling (not sure what fixed it exactly) it is getting decent FPS

I purchased this unit from the Scarborough store after returning a bad xfx gt 630 . this one works fine ,was a fully sealed product . ,nice frame rates in all games (my resolution is 1280 x 1024 ).If you add 20$ you will get a gtx 460 1gb , which is more powerful than gtx550 .I choose this one because my psu is cx400 .I had a cyclone gtx 460 1gb before .during gameplay the temp of that unit was around 63~65c .but this gtx 550 ti is hitting 73 ~74 c during gameplays .i expected 65c ..
For this price this is a nice unit.If you have a good psu get a gtx 460 .

I'm not a fan of the mini-hdmi connector (maybe it has to be that way) However this card didn't give me a mini-hdmi adapter. I did get a DVI-D to VGA adapter.
