This hub is small, handy and cheap. It works great. I ran into a small problem. I had to replace the USB 2.0 A-B M/M cable because the original cables are about 2 feet long. It was long enough for the power cable but i needed at least 3 feet for the USB cable.
I have to agree with the review by peter_x this hub doesn't function as a powered hub. I've heard this is not uncommon with cheaper hubs that are supposed to be powered. I attached a galaxy nexus, with 10-15% charge left, to the hub and nothing else on the hub but the ac/dc power adapter and after 12 hours it was only 75% charged.
I bought this hub to power my new Raspberry Pi and a couple of USB devices. When I first received it and plugged it into the wall, I noticed that there didn't seem to be any power going to the device at all. After fiddling with power connector in the back and applying just the right pressure in just the right position, the device's LED light came on, and I then proceed to carefully plug stuff into it. After many tries (the slightest movement caused it to turn off) I realized that it does not seem to provide the power required to power my portable external usb hard drive that has no issues when I plug it into anything else, and cannot even power my raspberry pi, which is also powered by a standard USB cable connected to any other USB port on any other device I happen to have. Anyone who needs a powered hub, should stay away from this device.

Not everything plugged into it is recognized, I have a few devices that absolutely refuse to work in certain plugs on this. Plus, it seems to be running at USB 1.0 speeds. To make things worse, every time I plug something in, or unplug something, the whole hub seems to lock/reset, disconnecting everything attached to it for a few seconds, and not everything comes back up when it decides to start working again. I definitely would not buy this again, and will be trying to get my money back.

Low priced but very functional USB hub that is powered. It even comes with a small stand. I have it connected to my HTPC to more easily access USB ports.

This thing is really great, works absolutely flawless, except for the length of the cords... They're pretty tiny... and as others have said, the rating on the power is tiny, but good for a few add-ons.

Upon opening the package, I was initially dismayed to see that the included power adapter was very runt-like, rated at only 500 mA, and having a 2 foot long cord that isn't enough to reach anywhere, unless you can plug it near your outlet, run your USB cables there, and get a longer USB A to B cable to connect your PC to the hub.
(Fortunately, the fact that this uses an ordinary USB A to B cable makes this latter part fairly trivial.)
