Purchased this, for a fundraising initiative as one of the prizes for a raffle, based on recommendations of friends.
Audio quality is incredible and the codec support is extremely varied. The included earbuds probably don't do the unit justice. We tested with a similar set of earbuds and the sound was still incredible.

Insanely easy to use/user friendly, this is this mp3 player for audiophiles who just want to listen to their collection without unnecessary bells and whistles, while the extras on it are nice, they don't interfere with your navigating. As a person who used "i" products this is an incredible step up, easy to use drag and drop system, one of the best gadgets I've had the pleasure of using.

The Cowon X7 is by far one of the best portable music players I've used. With it's amazing capacity (160GB) it is one the few hard drive based players out there. I haven't managed to get the 100+hrs of playback on mine but I am still amazed at its battery life considering the screen size and the fact that it has a hard drive. You can realistically expect a good 50+hrs with no problem, I usually do two weeks before I need to charge it.
