I bought this for $29.99 and it works, i have my computer upstairs in my room and my router is on the opposite side of the house downstairs and i get typically 4-5 bars out of 5.

Preface: I'm running Windows 7 Pro with this card and connecting to a G router (a netgear router, which neither of our Macs or our dell running Ubuntu have a problem connecting to).
I regret buying this one.. Very slow connection speed. Sometimes it runs acceptable, but most often its incredibly slow. Painfully downloaded a steam game at 12KB/s.
