i bought the hard drive and when i got it it caused my laptop to bsod of death. so a told ncix and they promptly guive me rma # than replaced the hard drive. so i would like to thank them for good service and the new hard drive is working great

Like i said, i bought it for my ps3 and worked fine for 5 months now. Didn't see any change in behavior at all, no lag, no jitter during video playback or playing games.
I purchased this drive as a replacement drive for my Macbook. The drive works great, but has a slight vibration so my Macbook hums when its set on a table while the drive is still spinning. It also runs hotter than the 5400's so the fan comes on much more frequently. This combined with the extra power required for the drive means the battery gets chewed up significantly faster. The drive is a bit quicker though so it is a tradeoff. I was hoping for near equivalent power consumption and noise, with increased speed.
This is a nice quiet drive. I installed it in my wife's HP tablet to replace the 160GB drive it came with. More space was the order of the day. It is faster than the old drive but I expected more. Oh, wait, this is a 5400 RPM drive. Of course.
It is much quieter than the 7200.4 Gforce 320GB which I put in my Aspire One a couple years ago.

I've used this in my toshiba satellite A300 for over 8 months now. Its fast, Reliable, and 500GB. it makes alot more noise than i'd expect (humming and vibrations) which is why I took a star off. At the time I bought it was relative cheap and good. Now though, 500gb 2.5" harddrives are abundant so you have a lot of options. Not sure exactly what the difference between Gforce and regular Momentus is...
Excellent price for an excellent drive, definitely worth it to get more space than the drive that came with my laptop. Might even get another one to do backup images on in case of catastrophic failure backup, which is what happened with my old one. I would recommend this to anyone in the market.

This is a great budget hard drive to place in a laptop. It's just as quiet as most 5400 RPM drives, and a nice boost in boot up times. I wouldn't upgrade from a 500GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive to this for the performance boost because it may not be worth it, but if you have a smaller drive and require more space then this is a good choice.
