It looks amazing
|
The keys feel like they are sticky or hard to press down
|
An alright product overall, though I did expect better from Razer, when I first saw it I was amazed by its looks and whatnot, but when actually using it it feels like its hard to push down.
Also the media tab on the top right hand corner does not work.

Great backlighting Key pressure is great Not too noisy
|
Maybe a bit expensive Probably not as good as a mechanical
|
This is the greatest keyboard I've ever owned. Keys have a great nonslip finish to them, backlighting is adjustable and looks great. keyboard even looks good with the backlighting off. Wasn't sure what to expect from this manufacturer, but this is a quality product.

whats not to like here? I am not a gamer but i use my keyboard a min of 6 hours a day. This keyboard has a wonderful responsive keyset, the backlit feature is fantastic!
|
I cant find anything wrong with this product
|
I love the ease of the pad in the corner to control my music, i can turn the light off and on in a second with one tap. I love the feel of the keys and i am typing even faster than before with this keyboard. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement keyboard.

Inexpensive

Poor build quality, very dim backlit, slow key reset
|
If your looking for a dust magnet, dimly backlit keyboard with slow to respond keys that don't reset get this keyboard. Several of my gaming friends own this keyboard and swear by it so perhaps I just got an odd lemon off the assembly line. Regardless this keyboard just feels thin and cheap so if your a basher I wouldn't recommend this.

Very comfotable to type with Looks badass Nice backlit USB port & headphone jacks
|
Not mechanical, but at this price, you can't expect to get a mechanical keyboard
|
Not much to say, it's very comfortable, has really nice backlit keys for late-night gaming, and has nice rubbery keys so your fingers don't slip.
At $50, this is an amazing product, I would expect it to be closer to $100 in price.

cheap, glows
|
cheap, bugged, touch-screen multimedia
|
I had a logitech keyboard for ages, never had any sort of problem with it was getting old and dirty, decided to change, and since that RAZOR keyboard was not expensive, i tried it.
The non-slip keys are interesting, but kinda makes it harder to push, and after a few months of use, i really don't like it.
Next thing i don't like is the touch-screen multimedia, every time i want to change the volume the backlit turns off, there is no way to get that backlit always on (why would someone want to not-see the keys?). It takes 3-4 tries to get the PAUSE button, when i'm busy with work and i get a phone call, i don't want to fool with the keyboard to shut the music off.
Last, it bugs once in a while, as if a key was always on, and its a software problem, as i crawl under the desk to unplug the 2 USB and plug 'em back and it works OK.
I just bought another logitech keyboard, that 70$ RAZOR keyboard goes straight to garbage.
check the net, lots of complaints

A gaming keyboard with hard to press keys??? Super finger print absorbant black finish (your keyboard will be ugly after a week) Yeah hard to press keys (had to mention it again)
|
Razer products look good, thats about it... Never in my life I had so much trouble with a 70$ keyboard before... I have 3-4 keys that are so hard to press you have to remember to smack your keyboard when using those keys... the black finish was the most stupid idea they could ever think. If you have 70$ to spend avoid razer products since they dont seem to know how to make there own products durable...

Got this awesome keyboard to replace my Logitec gaming keyboard wich got damaged by water. I loved my old keyboard but I love this one even more. Itsbacklit with a nice blue color wich is easy to read in the dark. There is an option wich makes it possible to light only tthe wasd keys, perfect for gaming in the dark. The keystrokes are very smooth. The design is very cool and the the finish is top quality.

Backlight keys -Good typing feel to keys -Looks cool -Powered USB and headphone/mic jacks on keyboard are nice -Media buttons

Mirror finish, not a very smart idea for something that's main purpose is to be touched -'W' key has never worked right
|
From the day I received it the 'W' key has given me nothing but trouble. I literally have to pound it to get it to register. Pretty odd especially for a 'gaming' keyboard. Other than that, the keyboard is actually pretty decent. The mirror finish is a terrible idea, but thats in the description, so buy it at your own peril.
It does look really nice and as long as you take care of your gear, it seems to hold up just fine. I've had mine almost two years and after it's daily wipe down, it still looks purdy.
A lot of people rag on this keyboard, but if you price backlit keyboards, this is one of the cheapest, especially if you catch it on sale, so I guess.... you get what you pay for.
It does have a real nice 'feel' to it and other than the 'W' key issue, I've never had any problems with mine.
Definitely not a five star product by any means, a solid three seems about right.

Rubber finish on the keys Illuminated Keys Music Control USB & Sound in the back
|
After 3 years of using this? Apart from the rubber keys wearing out. Nothing.
|
I love this keyboard, I got it as a gift a few years ago from a friend and ever since ... I have fallen in love with Razer keyboards. The illumination is just amazing, when you are gaming in the dark you will always know what to push. After some intense gaming uses for the keyboard, the only keys that are semi-worn off are the wasd and the space keys.

The rubberized keycaps are very nice. The macro software is very powerful. The flat semi-laptop keys are quite nice. Feels like a solid keyboard, easy to type on with a good back light. Media keys are gimmicky but cool to show off.
|
The software is quite volatile, it took some time with Razer support to get it working. A lot of issues with the keyboard not responding and keys sticking. Keyboard died after 15 months of ownership, warranty lasts for 12 months.
|
I purchased the keyboard for gaming and programming, the macros have helped both very well and I am quite impressed with the software's power. I am happy with the purchase and the keyboard is very nice but I am disappointed that the keyboard had a lot of issues and has now died after 15 months of use. I would buy again but with a longer warranty.

-programmable keys -illuminated keys -rubber finish -removable wrist pad
|
-attracted to fingerprints especially the glossy finish
|
This keyboard looks very nice. Low profile keys, similar to the laptop keyboards. For me, the blue illuminated keys was a bit too bright because when it was dark and my head was over the keyboard, the light was bugging my eyes a bit(kind of like twitched). I'm pretty sure that that is JUST my problem, but since this is a review I'm gonna put it out there. The rubber finish keeps on making me want to clean the keys over and over again. Also, if you turn off the lights, you can barely see the writing on the keys. The media touch pad is not bad at all, but the light that it emits when you press the caps lock, num lock, or scroll lock is annoying. The light bulb is like RIGHT under the cover, so at night its kind of disturbing. Overall, it is a very nice keyboard. Since I returned my product, I did not find any bug related things.

Pretty packaging
|
Too many to list, read review....
|
I'm starting to come to the conclusion that razor puts more effort into packaging then they do into the actual product. When I recieved this keyboad it looked extreamly sexy until I opened it up...First of all the over all board feels extreamly cheap and flimsy. The keys are practically unreadable unless the backlighting is turned on (which isn't all that great either). It randomly likes to change the backlighting from on to off to just the wasd keys lighting up. It types more like a 20 dollar retail plus keyboard from wal-mart. If it was priced at more like $50 it would be worth it, but at almost $100 its not.

Got this keyboard and have been testing it for about 5 days. I LOVE IT one of the best keyboreds I have used. Love the clickyness and the LED. Overall great bored. (for $82 you cant go wrong)

Defective
|
This keyboard would have been great aside from the fact that it I received a defective model. I have 3 razor products and all have small but noticeable flaws which can detract from a gaming experience.
The issue with my keyboard is that occasionally, maybe once or twice a week, it will lock up and continue pressing the last keystroke made (ie. all of a sudden you're constantly walking backwards in a game) The solution is to unplug and replug the keyboard, however this task is frustrating and should not even be an issue.
Very disappointed, in Razor.
NCIX did manage to have the product delivered in 2-3 business days. I always appreciate their hasty deliveries.

(Off, WASD keys, and full LED)

-Keys will stop working randomly (only happends once in a blue moon) A quick fix is just to replug the usb cord -wrist rest could be better

Little issues at start

Bought this to replace logitech keyboardS... after buying several expensive logitech keyboards and having nothing but problems with them... including a DiNovo which ended up being a peice of garbage and working half of the time, now used as a htpc keyboard thats works for about 3 minutes(click really fast).. I bought this razer keyboard after trying a razer mouse and having a good experience with it, its acted goofy at the start(letter g was unresponzive) which wasnt an issue until i wanted to google somthing...(oole.ca not a very useful site) but seemed to resolve itself after half an hour... Love this keyboard, will buy another razer again

|
- Random keys stop working - Laptop like feel keys(weakness for me) - Overpriced for what it does
|
I got a defective model and keys would stop working within 20 minutes of boot up and it would require a reboot for them to work again, this started happening about 3-4 weeks in from purchasing the product from NCIX, after reading online about these keyboards Razer released a bunch of defective keyboards, funny thing is if you get one YOU have to pay shipping which is about $25 in my case to get it replaced, completely unsatisfactory to do this and I will never buy from Razer again, even their customer support is pretty lame.. you just get scripted responses even if it doesn't make sense to the questions you ask.
Razer sucks, period.

-Perfect key depth, perfect balance between traditional and laptop keyboards -Macros on every key instead of hard to reach macro-specific keys -"feels" great -looks awesome -extremely responsive -Media touchpad
|
-Anti-ghosting only with specific clusters of keys, not every key setup will have full anti-ghosting though with some intelligence you can ussually find a good setup for your game -"non-slip" rubber finish will wear off commonly used keys after long excessive use
|
I love the razer Lycosa, the keys are the perfect depth and it's very responsive. The Lycosa "feels" much better than any other keyboard i've owned, and I've went through a lot of the popular logitech models and was never truely satisfied with any of them.
Only one major complaint in regards to the non-slip finish, It will start to wear off keys you use commonly after about 4 months, if you game often. It doesn't effect the functionality of the keyboard, but it doesn't look very good. I'd recommend going for the mirror edition keyboardinstead.

BUY THIS KEYBOARD.
Response times are amazing! Lights are GREAT Keys feel...amazing, Orgasmic even!
|
Hmm, It's light
It kind of feels cheap, kinda.
|
So, Overall I love this keyboard, It's the best I've owned! People complain about the lights not being very bright but I can assure you their perfect.
I find the WASD feature kind of pointless, but It looks cool and I like to show it off to my friends. The wrist wrest is also very comfortable.
My only complain is that when the legs are up to prop it up it causes the rubber grips on the wrest to lose contract with the desk, making it move around more then wanted. This can be easily fixed with stopped from The dollar store!
I love brushing my hand over the keys because it just feels so nice! I have this keyboard in combo with a Razer Death Adder and razer hasnt let me down yet!
BUY THIS KEYBOARD!
People complain about it breaking but that was batch 1, this is batch 2!
BUY EET NAO!

Slick Asthetically Pleasing Blue Backlight Handy Media Touchpad Resposive Keys Flexible, but durable

Touch Pad is still a little buggy Rubber on a couple keys is beginning to come off. Membrane mechanics
|
After getting a replacement Lycosa after the first one began locking keys on me randomly, i can finally say that overall this keyboard is a pleasure to use.
I personally like the low profile, laptop-like, keys.
I probably would have picked a more standard, mechanical keyboard had a been better informed. But i don't regret this purchase. Too much ;)
If this keyboard was a little less buggy i'd give it a four star rating, but since it's be known to freak out i'm going to give it a 3 star rating.

Attractive Comfortable Good clean layout
|
Keys could be quieter Keys are wobbly compared to most other low-profile keyboards Major hardware/reliability issues
|
Overall, the keyboard was a reasonably close match for what I wanted in a keyboard--albeit at a steep price--when it actually worked. The key lights are strong and clear, and the appearance is sleek, the profile and rubber keys comfortable.
But it is the second of two Razer products I've purchased...and both times been burned by faulty/poor quality hardware. A little online searching will bring up plenty of users like myself who had issues with the keyboard essentially going "haywire" at random intervals. Razer has admitted to the problem, but claims the problem is fixed and only affects certain batches. Well my keyboard was NOT one of the bad batches, but still has the problems. It seems buying the Lycosa is a completely random gamble...purchase at your own risk.
I'm going to be playing it safe...and skirting a wide berth around all Razer products from now on.

Short keystroke distance, high responsiveness and delicious feeling rubberized coating
|
High chance that yours will have a flaw in it and need to be returned
|
If you don't mind actually returning it to get another one (call Razer for a relatively fast response) if yours is flawed, and you have a relatively specific taste for a short keystroke keyboard, you'll probably appreciate the newer models of the Lycosa. If you're after a normal keyboard, spend your money elsewhere.

One note, don't install the driver from the CD, but install from the online site. Great keyboard overall, backlight could be a little stronger, but I'm not complaining about it as I have it in a tray.
